Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete

Glassfibre reinforced concrete, regularly referred to as GRC, is a durable non-combustible building material ideal for facade application. A lightweight alternative to traditional or wet cast stone, GRC allows building specifiers to save time and money across a project with accelerated installation and ease of handling.

Highly versatile in its appearance each GRC project is bespoke, individually tailored moulds can create any thing from simple profiles through to complex details and seamless curves. A long standing member of the Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete Association (GRCA), we take pride in our service and professionalism and are annually assessed by an independent certifying body to maintain full membership.

Benefits of GRC

With a combination of low weight (typically 40kgs/m2 @ 15mm design thickness) and high strength, GRC reduces the demands on the foundations and structure. It is an ideal cladding material for high rise buildings.

GRC is classified A1 non-combustible and is fully compliant for use above 18 meters alongside other non-combustible materials. Allowing architects and building specifiers to have complete confidence in GRC application for high-rise projects.

With many panels weighing around 50kg, GRC is an ideal material when working on sites with restricted access It can be brought on to a site, moved around and installed without the need for mechanical assistance.

The AR (Alkaline Resistant) fibres used for reinforcement within the product is non-ferrous therefore it is not susceptible to corrosion. The material also performs well under extreme weather conditions such as freezing weather conditions and fire.

Suitable for both historic and modern building design GRC profiles are fully customisable allowing for bold clean lines, complex shapes and fine details.

GRC uses less cement than equivalent concrete whilst producing much lower carbon dioxide emissions during manufacture and reduced CO2 emissions in transport due to its reduced weight.
